Who is Photoboy?

A bit about me

As a neurodiverse teen, photography serves as an important part of my day-to-day life. Since 2023, it’s become my beloved hobby, a passion that’s still fresh and exhilarating. Living with Tourette’s, diagnosed officially in 2021, I grapple with muscle pain and verbal tics, which often prove exasperating. However, amidst these challenges, my symptoms and tics markedly diminish, as photography help me focus.

Escaping with photography

As a teenager navigating life with autism, photography has emerged as a powerful tool for self-expression and connection. Through the lens of my camera, I find calm in the intricate details of the world around me, capturing moments that speak volumes when words fail. Photography allows me to communicate in a language instead of the complexities of verbal communication, offering me a means to share my unique perspective with others. In the process, photography has not only nurtured my creativity but also fostered a sense of belonging as I share my creations with a community that embraces and understands me beyond my autism.

Future aspirations

I am committed to continuing my photography practice and honing my editing skills. My focus is on capturing more images of nature and mastering the art of photographing people in motion. Ultimately, my aspiration is to establish myself as a renowned photographer and achieve success in the field!

Cameras

My mum introduced me to photography by letting me use Nikon D50 DSLR camera that belonged to her dad. As I got better with the camera I was then gifted a Niko D3100 DSLR at Christmas. I like going to castles, old buildings and zoo’s to take photos of flowers, rocks, animals, and the clouds.
